Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reports to: Mold Making Supervisor
  • Manage the day to day activities of the spotting group both internally and externally.
  • Approve quality of operations performed, both P/L and mechanism spotting.
  • Manage the group’s workload using provided data.
  • Monitor project budgets to ensure targets are achieved and overages are escalated.
  • Approve team members daily time and vacations
  • Spot mechanisms and p/l as required.
  • Monitor and adjust overtime based on the current workload.
  • Improve the spotting process by launching and managing CI Projects
  • Root cause any and all part issues dealing with Flash
  • Ensure SV/EPICOR compliance for task closure.
  • Based on workload coordinate outsourcing operations.
  • Validate work performed on the outside for both spotting and handwork.
  • Ensure Checklist compliance for all spotting activities.
  • Mentor and grow the team.
  • Plan activities three days into the future to ensure timing plans can be executed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge on the customer and commodity for specific builds.
  • Update the schedule as required. Provide feedback to the APG should the schedule fall off track.
  • Complete other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

  • 8+ years mold making experience (building, repair, spotting)
  • Strong spotting capabilities.
  • Capable of leading the day to day operations of several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical skills specifically with spotting. Knowing pass/fail criteria.
