Machine Setup Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reports to: 3D & Component Leaders
  • Retrieve workpieces from internal company departments for machine setup using crane and forklift (training provided)
  • Assist machine operators in set up of workpieces on machines according to specifications, operator instructions, and standard charts
  • Positions and secures workpiece in FCS, holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures, using clamps and wrenches
  • Assist machine operators in removing workpieces from machines, clean and transport workpieces to next operations
  • Follow prescribed and/or standard safety regulations
  • Inform Supervisor or Manufacturing Process Manager of all equipment malfunctions
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

  • Ability to work rotating shift and overtime as required
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
  • Crane & forklift experience considered an asset
  • Must understand and be able to work in both imperial and metric systems
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Above average technical abilities
  • High standard of professionalism and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and observe all procedures and safety policies
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated trustworthiness, accountability and reliability
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and teamwork
  • In depth knowledge of tooling and cutting systems considered an asset
  • Knowledge of FCS Modular work holding systems an advantage
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
